How treatment decisions are made

Every prescription treatment at Ject follows our nurse consult, doctor review, treat pathway. Your nurse will take a full history and assessment, this is reviewed by an independent prescribing doctor via telehealth, and treatment only proceeds if it's deemed clinically appropriate. There is no guarantee that any treatment will be prescribed or recommended following your consultation.

Possible side effects

Reactions vary from person to person depending on medical history, medications and individual response. Most people experience only mild, temporary effects, but you should be aware of the fuller range of possible reactions before deciding to proceed.

Common, mild reactions can include redness, swelling or tenderness at the treatment site, bruising, mild headache, and temporary asymmetry while product settles. Some visible downtime in the first 24-72 hours is common.

Less common reactions can include more significant swelling or bruising, small lumps or nodules, or an infection at the treatment site - these are usually manageable but may need follow-up care.

Rare but serious risks include vascular occlusion (accidental injection into a blood vessel), allergic reaction, and, in extremely rare cases involving filler, vision changes. These require urgent medical attention, which is why our Urgent Contacts page and after-hours pathway exist.

What we need to know from you

To keep you safe, you'll need to disclose things like current medications (especially blood thinners), autoimmune conditions or recent illness, previous cosmetic treatments, known allergies, and pregnancy or breastfeeding status. Withholding this information may mean we can't safely proceed with treatment.

Our standards

Ject operates under Australian healthcare law, including standards set by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), AHPRA, and the Nursing and Midwifery Board. We only use TGA-approved products.
